Limited vocabulary (400 to 600 words) and knowledge of the basic grammatical structures. Handling of the past and present tenses. Coping by oneself in everyday situations: understanding the gist of a conversation, introducing oneself, initiating the first contact, asking for information, handling a telephone conversation. In a written context, can understand simple written directions to the hotel, airport, etc. |
